Tahitian Lime Olive Oil

Tahitian olive oil is a premium, cold-pressed oil with tropical botanicals from French Polynesia. It offers a smooth, rich flavor with floral notes, ideal for enhancing gourmet dishes.

Recipe: Olive Ventura Tahitian Lime Chicken Tacos with Rice:

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients:

For the Chicken Marinade:

  • 1.5 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 3 tbsp Olive Ventura Tahitian Lime olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp local honey
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (Optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Rice:

  • 1 cup jasmine or basmati rice
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tbsp Olive Ventura Tahitian lime olive oil
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Salt to taste

Taco Assembly:

  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or slaw mix
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges
  • Sour cream or a light yogurt-lime sauce (Optional)

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Chicken
    In a bowl, mix Tahitian lime olive oil, lime juice, garlic, honey, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Add chicken, coat well, and marinate for at least 20 minutes (up to 4 hours for deeper flavor). 
  2. Cook the Rice 
    Rinse rice until water runs clear. In a pot, combine rice, water, olive oil, and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff with lime zest.
  3. Grill or Sauté Chicken 
    Cook marinated chicken on a grill or skillet over medium-high heat until golden and cooked through (6–7 minutes per side). Let rest, then slice or chop. 
  4. Warm Tortillas 
    Heat tortillas on a dry skillet or directly over a flame until warm and slightly charred. Use caution and tongs to flip tortillas. 
  5. Assemble Tacos 
    Fill each tortilla with sliced chicken, slaw, avocado, and a sprinkle of cilantro. Add a drizzle of sour cream or yogurt sauce if desired. 
  6. Serve with Rice 
    Plate tacos with a side of lime-infused rice and extra lime wedges.
